We  - the lads from Duncairn, our shared (rented) house in Wokingham - all got invited to a colleague's wedding up in Ayr, Scotland. We (Barry, Jerome Tucker, and me) drove up in our shared vehicle, a grey Mini (the commercial version, no windows at the back, the barn-door rear doors, and the added luxury of an bench seat installed in the back. It rained, of course. And the water got into the car through the rubber grommets in the holes in the floor. Why were there holes? Nobody knows. So we took the grommets out, and at least - though the water still got in - it left quite quickly. The stupid car's dynamo failed while we were up there, and we had to join the AA by the roadside, and then wait an extra day for it not to be Sunday and get the thing fitted.
